Terms of Service

These Terms of Service contain very important information about the services we provide and the conditions that apply to using these services. By using the Liigu Services, you declare that you accept and agree to these Terms of Service and are legally bound by them. Each time you book, rent or drive a Liigu car , you reconfirm your agreement with our Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms of Service, you should not book a Liigu car and should stop using our Services immediately

SO PLEASE READ THESE TERMS THOROUGHLY BEFORE RENTING.

General information

We are Liigu, a platform for smart mobility Services. We offer contactless car rental through our App and Website. You can book a car either from our Website or from our App but to use a Liigu car, you need our App.

We may change these Terms of Service from time to time and you are advised to check our Website or App to consider any changes to these Terms of Service which apply to you. In case of major changes to these Terms of Service, we will notify you separately, so that you can familiarise yourself with the changes and stop using our Services if you do not agree with them.

In the event of any discrepancy between the English original version of this Terms of Service and any foreign language translation, the English version prevails.

Definitions

In this section we will define some phrases that have a specific meaning in the context of these Terms of Service.

Liigu (we, us, our) – Liigu OÜ, international mobility service platform provider with the registered address Lai 11, Tartu, 51005, Estonia.

User (you, your) – the person using Liigu App, Website and/or Services.

Website – Liigu website available at liigu.me.

App – Liigu mobility application available for Android and iOS devices.

Services – mobility services offered by Liigu, including but not limited to car rental and car subscription.

Car subscription – type of car rental where the cost of the rental is charged in monthly instalments. The rental period of a car subscription is longer than 45 days.

Liigu car – any car that is rented on the Liigu platform.

Account – a user account on the Liigu platform that enables the User to search, book and use Liigu Services.

Service Provider – the party that you enter into a legally binding rental agreement with. These Terms of Service serve as the rental agreement. The Service Provider is either Liigu OÜ or our local partner. Please see the Service Provider section for details.

Rental charges – the money that we charge from Users for using a Liigu car. The exact amount depends on how long you are using the car, where you are using it, the type of car that you use as well as your chosen mileage and coverage options. Please see the section Rental charges for details.

Excess – the amount of money for which you are held responsible in case of damage to or the loss of a Liigu car. This can include fire, vandalism, theft and loss of use. It is the sum that you agree to pay in case of a claim on the car’s insurance policy. The exact excess amount depends on the car type, usage location and the coverage package that you choose. Please see section Excess for details.

Security deposit – the sum of money that we reserve on your payment card before you pick up your car to cover any unplanned charges, like damage to the car. We will release this money to you after you return the car if no unexpected expenses or claims have occurred. Please see the section Security deposit for details.

Identity verification – the process carried out by Liigu for checking the User’s identity based on the documents and photos that the User has uploaded in the App. Please see the section Identity verification for details.

Optional extras – services or devices that you can add to your rental for an additional fee. These include, for example, extra coverage and child seats. Please see the section Optional extras for details.

No-Show – we consider it a No-Show if you do not cancel your booking and do not show up to start your rental on time. Please see the No-Show section for details.

Additional driver – any person who is registered and authorized by Liigu to drive the rental car during the rental period in addition to the User. Please see Additional driver section for details.

Description of services

Service Provider

The Service Provider may either be Liigu or Liigu’s local partner who is responsible for making sure that Liigu cars are available to our Users at the agreed times at the agreed locations. By booking a Liigu car, you enter into a legally binding rental agreement with the Service Provider. These Terms of Service serve as the rental agreement. The Service Provider for your specific Liigu rental is displayed in the Liigu App.

Fully digital, scheduled and station-based car rental

Liigu offers fully digital car rental Services. You can check the available cars and locations in our App or on our Website. You can use our App without logging in / signing up to search for available cars but to use a Liigu car you need to create an Account.

You must download our App and sign in to verify your identity, access the car and return it. You need to upload the required documents in our App (see the Identity verification section for details) and can go directly to your car at the scheduled pick-up time. These Terms of Service serve as a rental agreement between you and the Service Provider. Every time you rent a Liigu car, you reconfirm your agreement with these Terms of Service.

Liigu Services are scheduled. This means that when you want to rent a Liigu car, you need to provide the date and time when you want to start using the car as well as the date and time when you want to return the car. Advance notice time depends on the location and availability of the car. You can see which cars are available for your selected time period by making a search on the Liigu Website or App.

We do our best to be flexible with extensions and early returns if you notify us in advance. We cannot guarantee that extensions or refunds are always possible or that you will not be charged for returning the car early. Please see the section Changes to your rental for details.

Liigu services are station-based, meaning that you pick up the car from and return it to a specific location or area, such as an airport parking facility. When returning the car, you park the car at the location or area as instructed in the Liigu App and then use the App to end the rental (see the Ending the rental section for details).

Car make and model

Some cars listed on the Liigu platform are make and model guaranteed, meaning the make and model of the car displayed with the offer is the one that you get. The colour of the specific car you get may be different from the one in the sample picture.

If the make and model is followed by the phrase ‘or similar’, this means that the make and model of the car displayed with the offer is an example of the type of car you get if you choose that specific offer. You may get a different make and model with the same number of doors and seats and similar luggage capacity.

In the rare case when the specific car or car category that you booked is not available when your rental is due to start, we will give you an upgrade to a higher category free of charge.

Creating an Account

To rent a Liigu car, you need to create an Account in our App. To create an Account, you need to enter your phone number. We will send you a text message with a verification code to make sure that it is unmistakably your number. After you enter the correct verification code in the App, your Account is created.

We may also use the phone number that you provided to send you important information regarding your rentals, such as notifications about upcoming rentals and reminders when your rental is about to end, and to contact you in case of emergencies.

Identity verification

To offer you Liigu Services, we need to make sure that you really are who you say you are and that you are eligible to drive Liigu cars. The process for this is called Identity verification and it is done via our App. You can check your verification status in the App under More -> Profile -> Verification Status.

Required information and documentation

You must fill in the required personal details when making your first booking or in the App under More -> Profile. There you can also always view and manage your personal information. You are responsible for keeping your personal information and document photos up to date.

You must take the required photos in the App either under More -> ID Documents, by following the prompt that appears in the App after your rental has been confirmed, or by tapping My rental -> Add documents. You can always view and manage your documents under More -> ID Documents.

If you upload false documentation or enter false information, we have the right to decline your rental and terminate your Account. Should this happen and should Liigu suffer any losses, liabilities or costs as a result of your actions, you will be fully responsible for all of these and liable to compensate Liigu for them.

To start the verification process, you must use our App to take pictures of the required documents and upload them at least 72 hours before your scheduled pick-up time.

We need photos of the following:

  • your driving licence (both the front and the back side)
    • if it is not issued by a member state of the European Economic Area, UK, USA or Canada, then also your international driving permit
    • please note that local authorities may have additional requirements for International Driving Permit when coming from outside the EEA;
  • your travel document:
    • passport (identification page)
    • or EU ID card (both the front and the back side)
  • yourself (a selfie)

All the documents that you submit for review must:

  • be in your name
  • show your identity
  • be valid when you upload them
  • be valid at least until you return the Liigu car

The document photos that you upload must be:

  • clear and readable – no reflections or blur
  • complete – display the document in full size without fingers or other objects blocking a part of the document
  • taken on a flat surface – do not hold the documents in your hand
  • new – not taken from a different screen or photo.

If the pictures are blurry, try cleaning your camera lens and taking a picture with better lighting. If there is a reflection on the photo, switch off the flash, try changing the angle of your camera or taking a photo further away from the light source.

Pay attention to the following when you take a photo of yourself:

  • Take off your glasses if they have dark or tinted lenses. Regular transparent glasses are fine as long they do not cause reflections on the photo.
  • Your entire face needs to be visible. Take off your hat, face mask, etc.
  • Your face should be in the middle of the picture, looking straight into the camera with you eyes open.

By uploading the photos, you warrant that you have the right to use those documents and images and give us the right to use, reproduce and represent them in connection with you using our Website, App and Services. We have this right until you continue to use our Website, App and Services, and this right applies to elements subject to intellectual property rights as well as to those relating to the protection of your privacy and your image rights.

Problems with verification

We have the right to ask for additional information or documentation if it is necessary to verify your identity. In this case, we will contact you directly with the details. If there are any issues with the documents that are uploaded (reflections, blur, expired, etc.), we will also get in touch with you and ask you to take new photos. We may also request a short video call with you.

We have the right to cancel your rental if:

  • you do not upload the required documents at least 72 hours before you are scheduled to pick up your Liigu car;
  • you do not meet the requirements to rent the specific car – for example are too young or old, or have not yet held your driving licence for the required period;
  • you do not pass the Identity verification;
  • we have reasonable grounds to suspect that your rental is fraudulent.

If we need to cancel your booking for any of the reasons above, our standard cancellation conditions will apply. Those conditions are outlined in the Cancellations section of these Terms of Service.

Successful verification

Once we have verified your identity, you are considered a verified user. This means that you will get access to the Liigu car at the pick-up time and location that you requested. And the next time you rent with Liigu, you will not need to add any documents.

Your status will remain ‘verified’ until one of the documents you uploaded for verification expires. Once this happens, we will ask you to upload your renewed documents. We also need to verify your identity again when you change your name or date of birth in the App or upload new photos.

Booking confirmation and contract

Once we have received the payment or the first instalment of your rental, the rental will be confirmed. If you are a verified user, you do not need to do anything else before the start of your rental. If you are not a verified user, you need to follow the steps described in the Identity verification section to get verified before your rental begins.

You need to provide a valid email address and your phone number so that we can send you a booking confirmation and important information about your rental.

These Terms of Service serve as your rental agreement. You can always view and manage your rental details in our App under More > Rentals by choosing the rental you want to manage from either the Current or Future rentals tab.

Pick-up

To start your rental and get access to the car you need the Liigu App.

Please make sure that at the time of pick-up:

  • you have a smart device with the App installed (either iOS or Android)
  • you are logged in
  • your smart device has internet access at your destination
  • the battery of the device is charged
  • Bluetooth is enabled on your device

When you arrive at your destination, you can go straight to your Liigu car. The exact method of getting access to the vehicle and starting the rental varies depending on the location and car. These options include using the App to unlock the car, scanning a QR code, getting the key from a key box or from a member of our staff by the car. Please follow the instructions displayed in our App when your rental is about to begin. If our App instructs you to only do certain actions in very close range of the car, make sure that you are within the requested range. Details, like the exact location, make and model, colour and licence plate of the specific car assigned to your rental will be available in the App at least 30 minutes before your rental is scheduled to begin. The App will guide you to the car and will tell you exactly what to do.

Although Identity verification is done online before the rental, you must still bring your driving licence and identification documents with you and be ready to present them, if needed. We may occasionally send a member of our staff to check your documents at the time of pick-up. During the rental, you may need to present them to local authorities.

If you run into any problems, please contact our customer support via the App immediately, and we will do everything possible to assist you. To contact our customer support, either tap on the support bubble displayed in the App or go to Help and choose how you want to get in touch. For urgent issues, we recommend that you give us a call.

If there is any unmarked existing damage on the car at the time of pick-up, it is your responsibility to take pictures that clearly display the existing damage and report the damage to Liigu customer support immediately (please see the Existing damage section for details).

Parking costs

Keep in mind that our prices do not include the parking ticket and all parking costs at the start and during the rental are customer's responsibility. Your rental may start in a paid parking area, such as an airport parking facility. In these cases please pay for the parking before exiting the area.

If you need to return your car early, please let us know in a timely manner. See Changes to your rental section for details. If you have not notified us of ending your rental early, we will charge you for every hour of parking until the designated drop-off time.

Late pick-up

You must start your rental and take possession of the car at the scheduled pick-up time. If you are late, you must inform our customer support as soon as possible. We will do our best to keep your car for you, if informed, but we cannot guarantee availability if you are more than one hour late.

If your rental starts at an airport and you have provided your flight number, we will do our best to keep your car for you in case your flight is delayed, but we cannot always guarantee availability.

If you do not pick up the car at the scheduled time, your rental will be considered a No-Show. Please see the No-Show section for details.

During the rental

During the rental, you can use the Liigu App to contact our customer support whenever you need any assistance with your rental. You can also use the App to check your rental details, such as when you need to return the car as well as the exact return location.

Ending the rental

Instructions on how to find the exact drop-off location are displayed to you in the App and you have to follow these instructions. It is your responsibility to park the car in the correct area as instructed in the Liigu App. In large parking facilities, such as airport car parks, you may need to leave the car on a specific floor, in a specific section and a specific range of parking bays. If you do not leave the car in the designated area, you will be responsible for all the costs we incur for retrieving the car from the wrong location. Your rental cannot be considered finished until the car has been returned to the agreed-upon location, and we will continue to charge you until this is done.

To end your rental and return the car to Liigu, you have to complete all the steps exactly as instructed in our App. These steps may be a little different depending on the exact location and car. In some cases, it is not possible to end the rental in the App if you are not at the correct location.

If you fail to return the rental car by the agreed time and have not extended your rental, you will lose access to the car. You will be charged for the extra time and the costs of returning the car to the drop-off location. Please see the section Changes to your rental for details.

User requirements

Please keep in mind that only you and verified Additional Driver are allowed to drive the Liigu car assigned to your rental and you are responsible for making sure that no one else drives it during your rental period.

Age limits for Liigu users

Users who are 23–70 years old can rent Liigu cars by default.

If you are younger than 23 or older than 70 years old, we will make an additional risk assessment during your ID verification. Depending on the result, Liigu may authorise you as eligible to drive Liigu car but may ask for additional fees or a higher deposit. If you need a custom offer, we advise you to complete ID verification as soon as possible so our team would have the time necessary to make the risk assessment.

Required documents

To rent a Liigu car, you need the following documents:

Please see the Identity verification section for details on how to upload your documents and complete the Identity verification process. Keep in mind that the payment card you use to pay for Liigu Services must be in your name.

Driving licence requirements

Your driving licence must meet the following requirements:

  • You must have held the licence for at least 12 months.
  • The licence is issued by a member state of the European Economic Area, UK, USA or Canada or is accompanied by the international driving permit.
  • The licence must be in your name.
  • The licence must be valid when you upload it to our App.
  • The licence must be valid at least until you return the Liigu car.

Payment card requirements

Liigu accepts the following payment card types:

  • credit cards
  • debit cards with online payment functionality

Liigu accepts only physical payment cards, we do not accept virtual cards. Although all payments are done electronically in our App, on our Website or in our partners’ channels, you must physically bring your payment card with you and present it to the member of our staff for validation if requested.

Additional driver

Additional driver can be added while booking your car or during the rental. In order to drive, the additional driver must download the Liigu App, make an Account, complete the identity verification (see the Identity verification section for details), and have the main user complete the payment for adding an Additional driver. Additional driver must meet all User Requirements.

To authorise the Additional driver, you must share the name, email, phone number, and date of birth with Liigu Customer Support. Being authorised means that the additional driver has declared that they accept and agree to Liigu Terms of Service and are legally bound by them. You must ensure that the Terms of Service are being followed at all times while using Liigu car.

Fuel, mileage, car condition, and geographical restrictions

Fuel Policy

Fuel policy determines how much fuel must be in the tank of your Liigu car at the start and end of your rental. Liigu uses Full to Full fuel policy, meaning you always get your Liigu car with a full tank of fuel and you should bring the car back with a full tank.

If you do not fill up the tank before returning a car, we will charge you for the missing fuel. Please see Refuelling fee in the Fees section.

It is your responsibility to make sure you use the right type of fuel in Liigu cars. If you use the wrong type of fuel in the car, you will be responsible for all the costs related to misfuelling.

Mileage Policy

Mileage policy determines how many kilometres/miles you are allowed to drive per rental. The mileage policy that applies to your car is always displayed with all of the offers in our App and on our Website.

Liigu rentals may have unlimited or limited mileage. The exact mileage limit is always displayed with the offer. You can always check the limit that applies to your rental in our App under My rental -> Rental details or Rentals -> Current/Future/Past and select the specific rental that you want to check the mileage for.

If you drive over the mileage limit, you will be charged an Extra mileage fee based on how many kilometres over the limit you drove. The exact Extra mileage fee is displayed on our Website and in our App with all the offers. See also Extra mileage fee in the Fees section.

Car condition

All Liigu cars are in excellent technical condition, cleaned and disinfected before being handed over to you. You are expected to return the car in the same technical condition and reasonably clean (see Extra cleaning fee in the Fees section). During the rental period, it is your responsibility to monitor the condition of the vehicle. If any problems occur, such as the car needs more oil or washer fluid, inform Liigu support immediately. We may request the car be serviced during the rental period and you must deliver it to the service location specified by Liigu. You are not allowed to modify the car in any way. In case of any unauthorized modifications, all Liigu coverages become invalid and you are fully responsible for all the costs of restoring the car to its original condition.

During the rental, you have to take precautions to make sure that the car is not stolen or vandalised. For example, do not leave any valuables in plain sight in the car. If the doors of the specific Liigu car you rented can be unlocked using the Liigu App, make sure that you keep a close eye on your phone and use a screen lock. If the physical car keys have been handed over to you, it is your responsibility to keep them safe.

It is forbidden to smoke in the car. If someone smokes in the car during your rental period, you will be responsible for the extra cleaning costs it causes. Please see Extra cleaning fee in the Fees section.

Pets

Pets are welcome in Liigu cars but for their safety and to keep the car free of pet hair, they must be kept in travel crates, carriers or cages at all times. Only service animals accompanying someone with a disability are allowed in the car without a carrier. You are fully responsible for any damage and extra cleaning costs caused by transporting pets in Liigu cars.

Geographical restrictions

If your rental started in Continental Europe, you can drive Liigu cars in the following European Economic Area countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, and also in Switzerland. You are not allowed to drive anywhere else.

If your rental started on an island, you can only drive your Liigu car on that specific island.

Please keep in mind that Liigu does not offer Roadside Assistance service outside the country where your rental started.

It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with all local traffic rules and regulations and to follow them.

Payment, security deposit, and fees

Rental charges

We will charge the cost of the rental as well as any Optional extras you have added to your rental from your payment card when you book the car. If you add any Optional extras to your rental at a later time, we will charge the cost on the same payment card.

In the case of Car subscription, we will charge the cost of the rental in monthly instalments from your payment card. The final instalment will be proportional to the number of days you used the car during the final month.

Fees

The prices displayed in our App and on our Website already include taxes and fees. However, some additional fees may apply under certain circumstances. These circumstances and fees are outlined below. We have the right to charge these fees from your payment card under those circumstances. We always notify you when we charge a fee from you.

Refuelling fee, 3.50 EUR / litre – If you return the car with less fuel in the tank than specified in the fuel policy of your rental (see the section Fuel Policy for details), we will charge you for the missing fuel.

Extra cleaning fee, up to 300 EUR – All Liigu cars go through standard interior and exterior cleaning and disinfection after every rental. If the standard cleaning is not enough to clean the car and Optional extras (like child seats), we may charge you for the cost of extra cleaning, which usually does not exceed 300 EUR. However, in case our cleaning fees significantly exceed the stated amount, we reserve the right to bill you for the full sum of the cleaning required. This fee may apply when you, for example, smoke in the car, leave your trash behind or spill food or drinks in the car. The state of cleanliness is determined solely by Liigu.

Extra mileage fee, 0.25 EUR / km – If you choose to drive over the mileage limit, we will charge you for every kilometre that you have driven over the limit (see the section Mileage Policy for details).

Parking fees, road taxes and toll fees, determined by local authorities – You are responsible for all parking fees, road taxes and toll fees incurred during your rental. If you do not pay them directly to the local authorities, we may either charge all such taxes and fees directly from your payment card or forward your contact information to the responsible local authorities so that they can charge you.

Cancellation fee, 100 EUR – You will be charged a Cancellation fee if the rental is cancelled by you or Liigu less than 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up time (see the section Cancellations for details).

No-Show fee, cost of three days of your rental, but not exceeding the full amount of what you have paid – You will be charged a No-Show fee if you do not pick up your Liigu car at the scheduled pick-up time and do not inform Liigu of any delays (see the section No-Show for details).

If any of these fees apply, we will either deduct the respective amounts from your Security deposit or charge them from your payment card after your rental. In case of traffic violations, we may forward your contact information to the local authorities if requested.

Security deposit

Security deposit is the sum of money that we reserve on your payment card 48 hours before you are scheduled to pick up your car. If your rental starts less than 48 hours after booking, the security deposit will be reserved as soon as possible after the booking is confirmed and identity verified. We do this to cover any unplanned charges, like damage to the car or the Refuelling fee. We will release this money to you after you return the car and if no unexpected expenses or claims have occurred. In case of damage to the car during your rental, we will charge the Security deposit and if your rental is still ongoing, we will reserve another Security deposit sum on your payment card. The Security deposit is equal to the Collision Damage Waiver excess amount of the specific car and coverage package combination. If the Excess on your chosen car and coverage package is reduced to zero, then we will not reserve a Security deposit.

We will release your Security deposit no later than 72 hours after you return your car if there are no unexpected expenses. In case of unexpected expenses, Liigu may hold the deposit until the full cost of expenses has been determined, after which you will be informed of the total cost and the sum of the deposit that will be released. The exact time it takes for the money to reach your account depends on your bank.

Currency exchange rates and bank charges

Liigu cannot be held responsible for any differences in the amounts displayed in our App and on our Website due to fluctuations in currency exchange rates and other possible banking charges.

Campaigns & Liigu credits

We may at times make promotional campaigns for marketing purposes. Campaign offers may be available on Liigu’s Website and App or on our partners’ sites.

Campaigns are usually available for a limited time, as specified in the promotional materials of the campaign. You can learn more about the details of an ongoing campaign by contacting Liigu Customer Support.

Campaign terms will be explained in the offer or in the promotional material. By taking part in the campaign you agree to specific terms of the ongoing campaign, which may override parts of the Liigu Terms of Service.

We will retain the right to end campaigns at any time without prior notice. If we have reason to believe you have violated the terms of the campaign, we may charge you for the full price of the Services subject to the campaign offer.

Liigu credits

Liigu may issue you with internal credits on your account, which can be used to pay for Liigu Services. Liigu credits can be received through campaign offers, cashback or in some cases as refunds for using our Services. To check the balance or to use Liigu credits, contact the Customer Support team.

Liigu credits are valid for one year after the date they have been added to your account unless stated otherwise. The value of 1 Liigu credit is equal to 1 EUR. Liigu credits cannot be redeemed for cash. You cannot transfer your credits to other Liigu Accounts.

Coverage

All Liigu rentals include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Theft Protection (TP) and Third Party Liability (TPL) insurance. This means you are covered in case your Liigu car is damaged (CDW) or stolen (TP). TPL covers the costs of any third parties to whom you may cause damage in your Liigu car up to 1.2 million EUR and up to 5.6 million EUR for causing death or physical injuries to people. There are, however, some important points to keep in mind with these protections.

Excess

Excess is the amount of money for which you are held responsible in case of damage to or loss of a Liigu car. This can include fire, vandalism, theft and loss of use. It is the sum that you agree to pay in case of a claim on the car’s CDW or TP policy. Excess is charged for each individual insured event. The exact excess amounts depend on the type of damage or loss, car type, rental location and the coverage package that you choose. The excess amounts are always specified in car details for every Liigu car offered in our App and on our Website.

Zero Excess Deal

If you wish to eliminate your CDW excess, you can add Zero Excess Deal to all Liigu rentals. This means that you will not be charged for damage unless the damage happens under circumstances that violate these Terms of Service. Please see the section Coverage exclusions for details. Zero Excess Deal does not cover any fuel or mileage related fees or traffic fines. You are still liable for any such costs, should they apply to your rental. Zero Excess Deal also does not cover the theft of the vehicle.

Coverage exclusions

Liigu coverage products do not cover the following:

  • damages to the wheels and tyres;
  • damages to car mirrors;
  • costs for the loss of car keys;
  • damages to the clutch;
  • costs for any repairs that are not pre-approved by Liigu;
  • costs caused by using the wrong fuel and/or other fluids in the car;
  • taxi or other transportation fees;
  • road tolls, parking and traffic fines;
  • personal belongings or valuables;
  • damage to car locks;
  • extra cleaning fees;
  • damage to the car’s interior (unless caused by a collision);
  • damage to or loss of car accessories such as licence plate and wipers;
  • damage to or loss of Optional extras, like child seats;
  • car theft if the physical or digital keys (your phone) are left in the vehicle or if due care and attention are not taken.

All coverage becomes invalid if:

  • damages/accidents occurred due to a violation of local traffic rules and other legislation;
  • you fail to provide documentation, like police reports, or if the damage is caused by your negligence or any other violation of these Terms of Service or local legislation, Liigu coverages will become null and void and you will be responsible for all the costs.
  • someone unauthorized by Liigu drives the car;
  • any persons are found to be driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, wilfully causing damage, being negligent, off-road driving and driving in a careless manner;
  • these Terms of Service are breached;
  • any third party involved refuses the settlement of a claim;
  • you transport illegal, hazardous goods or materials in the Liigu car;
  • you use the Liigu car to participate in races or competitions;
  • you use the Liigu car to tow other vehicles;
  • you modify the car in any way;
  • you use the Liigu car to attain any kind of profit or rewards, such as renting it out to third parties, carrying passengers for money, giving driving lessons, etc.

Optional extras

It is possible to add Optional extras, such as child seats and extra coverage, to your rental. The exact price and availability of these extras may differ depending on your rental location and the specific car. Available Optional extras and their prices are always displayed with every Liigu car offer.

If physical Optional extras, such as child seats, get lost, damaged or unreasonably dirty during your rental, you will be responsible for all the costs related to cleaning or replacing the Optional extras.

Installing child seats

If you add child seats of any type to your rental as Optional extras, we will do our best to pre-install them in the car to save you time. However, it is your responsibility to check the child seats and make sure that all security equipment is installed correctly and safely before driving off. Liigu is not liable for any injuries or damage caused by incorrectly installed child seats.

Incidents, accidents, fines, and damage

Existing damage

All Liigu cars are inspected for damage before being handed over to you. In some locations, the damage that we already know about is marked with small stickers.

When you start a Liigu rental, it is your responsibility to inspect the car for existing damage as well. If you spot anything that you think we may have missed, please take pictures that clearly display the damage and contact our customer support immediately.

New damage, accidents, and breakdowns

If your Liigu car is damaged in any way or breaks down, you must contact our customer support immediately for assistance. If you experience any kind of technical problems during your rental or are involved in a traffic accident in the Liigu car, you must also contact our customer support immediately. Our up-to-date contact information is always available on our Website under Contact and in our App under Help. You can either call, email, or chat with us. You must inform us of any incidents immediately but no later than 12 hours after the incident has occurred. If you do not report the incident within 12 hours, Liigu coverage will not be valid, except in cases where contacting us on time is impossible (for example when seriously injured or ill). We will instruct you on what you need to do next and you must carefully follow the given instructions.

If any repairs or replacements are needed, you must get consent from us beforehand. We will not reimburse any unauthorized repairs or alterations to Liigu cars and you may also need to cover the costs of restoring the car to its original state. If there are any other parties involved in the incident, please call the police. You must keep and forward to us all the related documentation if you wish to use any damage coverage provided by Liigu. Please keep in mind that if you fail to provide documentation, like police reports, or if the damage is caused by your negligence or any other violation of these Terms of Service or local legislation, Liigu coverages will become null and void and you will be responsible for all the costs. Liigu may also charge an administration fee for handling such cases.

Please keep in mind that all damages caused due to your negligence or breaking any laws invalidate all Liigu coverage and you will be responsible for all the costs. The cost of car damage will be calculated according to Liigu’s damage estimation table.

If your Liigu car is seriously damaged, you can request a replacement car. We will do our best to provide the replacement car within 72 hours of the request where possible. Our customer support will contact you to decide on the place and time for the exchange of cars. Please note, the need for a replacement car is determined by Liigu.

Traffic fines and violations

You are responsible for all traffic fines incurred during your Liigu rental. This includes but is not limited to all speeding and parking tickets. Please keep in mind that in some rental locations, it may take several months before this kind of information is forwarded to us by the authorities. Depending on the local legislation of your rental country and on how local authorities handle fines, we may either charge these directly from your payment card or forward your contact information to the local authorities if requested. We may also share your personal information with local authorities if they request it to investigate any potential violations or crimes. Liigu may also charge an administration fee for handling such cases.

Roadside Assistance

We offer Roadside Assistance service for all Liigu rentals within the country where you picked up your car. Please contact our customer support for details.

Changes to your rental

Please contact our customer support team if you need to make any changes to your rental after it has been confirmed. This includes but is not limited to changing your rental dates, the car, and adding Optional extras. Please keep in mind that any changes to the rental details may also change the price of the rental because the rates effective at the time of booking and at the time of making the changes may not always be the same. Our support team will inform you of any changes in the price before moving forward with the requested modifications.

If you need to extend your rental, contact our customer support. We do our best to be flexible if you notify us in advance. However, we cannot guarantee that extensions are possible.

If you need to end your rental early, let our customer support know as soon as possible. If you notify us 72 hours or less before your scheduled drop-off time, we will not refund you for the unused rental time. If you notify us more than 72 hours before the drop-off, we will refund you for the unused rental time minus the cost of three days of your rental.

You can swap your Liigu car during your subscription period. To swap the car, let us know which car model you are interested in. Please note that it may take us up to 14 days to arrange the swap, depending on the availability of the model you requested.

You can end your car subscription at any time during the subscription period. Just contact our Customer Support to agree on the details of the return. Please keep in mind that in case of an early return, you will be charged the sum of two months of your subscription fee, but no more than the remaining sum of monthly payments. The cost of any monthly extras you have added during the subscription period will be reduced from the fee.

Cancellations & No-Shows

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your rental before the scheduled pick-up time, you can do so by either contacting Liigu customer support or in the Liigu App. To cancel in the App, find the booking you wish to cancel either from My Rental (displays your next upcoming Liigu rental) or from Rentals > Future. Open Rental details or the specific booking and tap Cancel rental.

If you cancel your rental at least 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up time, we will give you a full refund.

If you cancel your rental any later than that but still before the scheduled pick-up time, we will charge you a cancellation fee and refund any amount previously paid, which exceeds the cancellation fee. See the Cancellation fee in the Fees section for more details.

If Liigu cancels your booking for any reason mentioned in these Terms of Service (for example, we could not reserve the Security deposit from your payment card on time, could not complete your Identity verification, have reasonable grounds to suspect fraud), the same rules apply as when you cancel the booking yourself.

If Liigu is unable to provide the car to you, we will do our best to redirect your booking to another Service Provider. In peak periods this may not always be possible. If we cannot offer you an alternative, we will contact you, cancel the booking and refund your payment in full.

No-Show

If you do not pick up the car on time and have not informed Liigu customer support, the rental will be considered a No-Show, and we will charge you a No-Show fee. Please see the No-Show fee in the Fees section. If you experience any delays, please contact our customer support immediately. We will do our best to keep your car for you but cannot guarantee availability if you are more than one hour late. Please see the Late pick-up section for details.

Liigu is a growing business, and we have not had the chance to implement all the features we have planned. If there are any features that you would like to see in our App or in our service in general, please let us know. We really appreciate your input!

By downloading and using the Liigu mobility application, you signify your consent of this disclaimer. Please note that the use of this application is at your own risk. The Liigu mobility application is provided “as is” and “as available” basis, to the maximum extent permitted by law. However, please note that exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law and your statutory rights are not affected.

Although we do everything in our power to ensure the accuracy of the information provided through our App and Website, we do not accept any responsibility for possible misinformation or omissions in the information we share with you in the App or on the Website. We do not accept responsibility for any decision you make based solely on the information that is mediated by us. We cannot be held responsible for any technical failure of the internet and/or the App or Website, or damage or injury to you or your property as a result of or in relation to your use of the App, Website or Services.

The Liigu mobility application collects and stores your personal information that is needed for booking and renting a vehicle. While we have taken all reasonable security measures to keep the information you provide to us protected against loss and any misuse, we cannot guarantee that a breach of security will not occur or that the electronic correspondence between us and you will not be monitored or read by others. We would like to note that you play an important role in holding your information safe. You should not share your Liigu Account details with anyone and also keep your phone secure. We recommend that you do not jailbreak or root your phone, that is, do not remove software restrictions and limitations imposed by the official operating system of your device. Removing software restrictions and limitations may make your phone vulnerable to malware, viruses, malicious programs, and compromise the security system of your phone. In addition, it may cause the Liigu App to not work properly or not work at all.

We will not be held accountable for any acts or omissions of any third parties in whatever way caused, and for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, in whatever way caused, resulting from or in connection with the Liigu mobility App, Website and Services.

Force majeure

Liigu is not liable for any delay in meeting its obligations due to causes outside its reasonable control including acts of God, riot, war, malicious acts of damage, fires, or electricity supply failure.

Ending the service contract

You can delete your Account in the Liigu App at any time if you do not have any ongoing or upcoming rentals. If you have any ongoing or upcoming rentals, you must end or cancel these before deleting your Account. Liigu reserves the right to end the service contract at any time if you breach these Terms of Service, any legal rules or the rights of any person.
