Experience the beauty of Estonia the best possible way — by car!
Car rental is the most convenient way to discover the remote sights of Estonia and get closer to the hiking trails in pristine forests and wetlands.
The traffic in and around Tallinn is mostly easy to handle. However, during the rush hour between 7 and 9 AM, and between 6 and 9 PM, you can experience long traffic lines in the downtown area. To save time, it’s better to avoid driving in the city center during these hours.
For driving in the city, a mid-size car is a good choice. If you plan a road trip around Estonia, we recommend renting an SUV or a more spacious car for your comfort. If you wish to rent a car in Tallinn during the winter months, you’d want to consider a four-wheel drive for extra safety. We’ll take care of the obligatory winter tires and equipment.
The speed limit on urban areas across Estonia is typically 50 km/h (31 mph). On the public roads, the limits are usually 90 km/h (55 mph), and on high-speed roads, it is allowed to drive with a maximum speed of 110 km/h (65 mph) and 120 km/h (75 mph). In icy or snowy conditions, these limits are lower.
