Car rental with Liigu app — how it works?
It's like having your own car waiting for you at Barcelona Airport!
Do you need a car in the Barcelona city center? We have you covered. Liigu cars come equipped with everything you need to make navigating the charming yet narrow streets easier.
Traveling with family? We offer child seats to keep your little ones safe and sound throughout the journey. Well-behaved pets are welcome too. All our rental cars are carefully cleaned and disinfected. Additionally, for any unexpected changes to your plans, we offer free cancellation up to 48 hours before your pick-up.
The best way to explore the secrets of Barcelona? By car!
Car rental is the most convenient way for discovering the Catalonia region. You’ll already save a lot of valuable time taking a car from the Barcelona airport and driving to the city center.
You can always expect heavy traffic in and around Barcelona. The most intense are the rush hours between 8 and 10 AM, and 6:30 and 8:30 PM. Crowds, motorbikes, as well as many narrow one-way streets, make driving in the city center quite challenging. To help you focus on the road and make your trips as stress-free as possible, we take care of the navigation systems in all Liigu cars.
For driving in Barcelona center, we recommend renting a smaller car. There are many parking lots in the city center but the parking spaces can be quite tight. If you plan to drive to the mountains near Barcelona or visit the beaches along the Costa Brava and Costa Dorada, it’s a good idea to rent an SUV or a more spacious car for your comfort.
The speed limit in urban areas across Spain is typically 50 km/h (31 mph). The highways have a maximum speed limit of 120 km/h (75 mph) and the rural roads — 90 km/h (55 mph). It’s smart to avoid speeding near Barcelona as even a small exceeding of the limits can result in a significant fine.
